Where am I?

Long ago, the world was at constant war. Monsters and demons flooded the lands, ravaging villages and destroying fortresses. The state of the kingdom, (Whatever we name it), was struggling immensely, financially, and physically. This adventure takes place far after those times, where the world is…not quite in turmoil. The kingdom’s royalty is determined by heritage, with a great descendant of the original king now on the throne. The world is more peaceful under the king, who exaggerated his ancestors’ feats so much not even his soldiers believed him. The idea of monsters and magic were long dead, and magical artifacts were nothing but hearsay. But peace cannot last for long. An old, mysterious women warned the king of their return using what she claimed as a crystal ball, and yet he and the other soldiers brushed it off, complacent with the times and hearing so many exaggerations at this point. But the king made a mistake, and as monsters started to appear in the outer areas, he panicked. To cover up his folly of ignoring the women, he attempted to defile her message, claiming them as a spy and removed them from the kingdom for eternal banishment. All the inner-city townsfolk, unable to see the danger, believed in the king and ignored the old woman’s message, brushing them off as senile before she left the kingdom for good. All except one. The one who still had a magical artifact and access to the ancient arts. The one who knew the truth of the matter despite the more peaceful time. The one only known as Pointy.

What makes Pointy so special?

This RPG is based around the idea of elemental mastery, which different elements addressing the different aspects of typical RPG combat system, such as healing and buffs being the grass element. Combine that with the ability to spec into different elements in the same tree, it creates an RPG that allows the player to choose how they want to play through the game rather than a streamlined ability progression. The enemies also have access to the elements and to fusion elements, creating unique challenges and approaches for the player to consider and overcome.

How did these lands come to be?

While we have quite a bit of assets, there were a few that stood out to help this world come to life:

  • Cobblestone, Grass, and Dirt textures are extremely solid and versatile for making areas look more rural or natural, respectively.
  • The Treeant model, being an early developed model, is a great asset we used as a baseline for the other models and animations in our game.

When can I see Pointy?

Help Pointy save the kingdom from disaster on November 20th, where a playable demo will be available to the public and vote for us at this year’s Game Expo!
